As a sophomore at Ball State University, I had the opportunity to give a campus tour to a unique group of students. This tour was different than others because it was for a group of prospective Hispanic students who would all be the first in their families to attend college. When I asked what they were interested in studying and what they were looking for in a university, their options for majors and minors were unlimited – and so were their goals and ambitions.
This past summer, I had the opportunity to attend a conference where Luke Sullivan was the keynote speaker. For those of you not familiar with Luke, he’s the author of the modern advertising bible: Hey Whipple, Squeeze This.
I’ve spent the better part of my career communicating about road and sewer construction. Glamorous, I know, but it’s important to educate residents about publicly funded projects.
INDIANAPOLIS – The year finished on a high note, with 2015 showing an 8 percent increase in pended home sales over 2014, according to F.C. Tucker Company statistics of the nine-county central Indiana region. More than 31,000 homes sold in 2015, up from approximately 29,000 last year. The average selling price of a home also rose each month of the year as available inventory declined during 11 months of 2015.

Sometimes, the biggest life lessons are learned through experiences at work. In the nine years I’ve worked at Borshoff, I’ve retained a number of valuable lessons that have shaped my life.
INDIANAPOLIS – MDwise was recently recognized for its quality health care, service and member satisfaction. The company was rated 4 out of 5 among health insurance plans in the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)’s Medicaid Health Insurance Plan Ratings 2015-2016. MDwise was the top-rated Medicaid HMO in Indiana.
Before I had kids, I was excited about the things I’d teach my children – tangible things like how to sing the ABC’s, color inside the lines, ride a bike, and life lessons like – how to share with others, be kind, get up and try again and have a servant’s heart. The list goes on. What I didn’t realize, until I became a mother, was how much I’d learn from my kids.
