MANAGING SENTIMENT ON PUBLIC PROJECTS

Communicating through the lens of public concern.

Organizations occasionally find themselves on the receiving end of negative public sentiment on a large and visible project or issue, and social and news media can quickly amplify the situation. Borshoff approaches grassroots communications through the lens of public concern, delivering sound strategy combined with timely, transparent and factual communications. We’ve initiated meaningful conversations and helped shift sentiment for a variety of projects and issues, including significant urban and suburban infrastructure projects, utility rate increases, and community art and enhancement projects, as well as provided messaging and communications support for government relations and public affairs. Our work — like that on US31 Hamilton County, the Indianapolis Cultural Trail, the North Split, and others — has included establishing community advisory councils, keeping residents informed from design through the construction process, navigating controversial issues, and ensuring there are no surprises with public projects.
