CONNER PRAIRIE – PROMISED LAND AS PROVING GROUND

The whole story is waiting to be told.

For decades, living history museum and Indiana landmark Conner Prairie has inspired and educated visitors about the history of the Hoosier State. But until recently, the story has been incomplete, failing to illuminate the stories of the African American community here. We helped the museum launch their newest experience, aimed at addressing this shortfall directly, starting in 2021.

Intentionally incomplete videos introduced viewers to real figures from Indiana’s past, ending abruptly at pivotal moments in these individuals’ lives. The effect was jarring. People wanted to learn more. The videos, which first aired during Super Bowl LVII in 2023, were supported by a full campaign including radio, outdoor, digital and social messaging. Our team was proud to partner with a diverse group of local talent, both in front of and behind the camera, including actors from the Asante Children’s Theatre and accomplished composer/drum-maker Anthony “”Baba Tony” Artis.
