Arts provide life support to Indy.

In 2020, more than 32,000 arts and culture cancellations occurred in Indy due to the pandemic. More than 125 organizations and 30,000 artists in Indy’s arts community encountered financial losses.

In response, the Arts Council of Indianapolis created the Emergency Relief Fund for artists. Borshoff partnered with the council to create community awareness of this fund. We created the hashtag #IndyKeepsCreating to celebrate and amplify artist voices online. We also provided a communications strategy that included key messaging, proactive media relations, social media creation, and email templates that were used to contact legislators for funding.

To date, #IndyKeepsCreating has been used more than 18,000 times on Instagram and more than 100 stories were published about the Emergency Relief Fund.
