OUR MISSION
Diversifying the Future of Advertising
At MACAW our mission is to empower and educate underprivileged BIPOC youth to find their voice using marketing communications. Our goal is to increase diverse and authentic thinking so that we may continue to build a more inclusive industry.

Building a More Inclusive Industry
Through MACAW’s 12-week program, marginalized BIPOC middle school students will have the opportunity to explore various careers across the industry, including marketing, advertising, communications, art and writing. Students will work hands on with a team and see their ideas come to life by helping local businesses market their services to the community with guidance from advertising and marketing professionals.
Learning Skills for a Career in Advertising
It’s always good to know reading, writing and arithmetic. However, a career in advertising doesn’t solely rely on those things. Other skills can help you get started in this industry. If you like staying organized, solving problems, working with others or learning new skills, there may be a role in advertising for you!
GET INVOLVED
Shaping the Future of Our Industry
We connect with professionals looking to make our industry a more inclusive one. Our volunteers range from college students currently studying these programs to professionals already working in the field. Wanting to get involved and educate the next generation of talent?
BECOME A PARTNER
We welcome all local businesses and community partners to help us achieve our goal of building a stronger and more diverse pool of talent in the years to come!
BECOME A MENTOR
We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated mentors interested in educating and empowering today’s youth.
Inciting Change in the Workplace
The marketing communications industry has a serious diversity problem. Not only in our workspace, but also in our storytelling, content and positioning. It is time we stop expecting BIPOC youth to conform to “traditional” learning and expectations, and instead create a safe environment for them to explore their passions. By giving students an opportunity to explore their creative talents and gain real life work experience they can begin to imagine a brighter future.
